RSCI-Audit for our Monheim plant
Between 13.03. - 14.03.24, an RSCI audit was successfully carried out for the first time at the Monheim plant by DQS (German Association for the Certification of Quality Assurance Systems).
The Responsible Supply Chain Initiative RSCI e.V. was founded by the German Association of the Automotive Industry (VDA) with 14 other members from the automotive industry. In addition to the car manufacturers Audi, Volkswagen Group, Mercedes Benz AG and BMW, suppliers such as Brose, Robert Bosch GmbH and Schaeffler are also among the founding members.
The aim of the RSCI e.V. is to ensure the high sustainability standards of suppliers in the automotive sector through independent audits and to standardize them at national and international level. In this way, added value is to be created for the client, who receives proof of transparent and fair working conditions at their manufacturers based on the audit.
Suppliers also benefit from an RSCI audit, as they can meet the requirements of several customers with a single audit.
RSCI assessments are social audits. They are usually carried out on site at the suppliers' production facilities.
In addition to site inspections, employee surveys are also carried out. Furthermore, important documents are checked and compared with the RSCI specifications.
After the assessment, companies receive a report that can be made available to stakeholders, customers and clients. It serves to create a high level of transparency and comparability among manufacturers and suppliers regarding sustainable working conditions.
Depending on the assessment result, RSCI issues a label that is valid for three years.
Companies that undergo an RSCI audit implement high standards regarding sustainability in the automotive supply chain. Specifically, this involves compliance with a code of conduct that meets social standards as well as basic requirements in the areas of health and safety at work and environmental protection. Based on the RSCI specifications, audits have been developed to ensure that important requirements for sustainability, environmental protection and occupational health and safety are met by legislators, stakeholders and customers. With an RSCI audit, companies also make a significant contribution to compliance with basic human rights in the production and supply of goods in the automotive sector.
