REACH

The REACH system (Registration, Evaluation, Authorization and Restriction of Chemicals) is based on the principle of individual responsibility on the part of the industry. In line with the principle of “no data, no market”, within the area of validity, only previously registered chemical substances may be introduced to the market. Before introducing any substance covered by the REACH regulations to the market, manufacturers or importers must have a registration number for the said substances.

Information obligation:
Article 33 of the REACH Regulation defines the obligation to provide information about substances in products within the supply chain and in relation to the private consumer. This obligation under Article 33 within the supply chain always stands if the product contains a substance from the candidate list in a proportion of 0.1% or more by weight. All participants in the supply chain must be immediately informed about SVHC in products. Such information must contain at a minimum the name of the substance, and the safe handling of the product.

If you have any further questions about REACH, please contact:

Conflict Minerals

The US Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) has implemented a section of the Dodd-Frank Wall Street Reform and Consumer Protection Act, requiring an obligation on publicly traded companies to disclose the use of ‘conflict minerals’. Conflict minerals include tantalum, tin, gold, and tungsten, which are extracted in the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) and neighboring regions. Under the Dodd-Frank Act, the intention is to minimize the financing of Congolese militia and help stem the conflict in the region.

Bühler Motor GmbH is not listed on the US stock exchange – but as a supplier, it is obligated to submit a Conflict Mineral Report to publicly traded customers. To comply with our duty of care, we need to be given a CMRT (Conflict Minerals Reporting Template) Report by our direct suppliers and their supply chain. To ensure an uniform process, we can only accept CMRT Reports in the version valid at the time from the CFSI. (Conflict-Free Sourcing Initiative).

Please send the CMRT Report to:
